Introduction

whoami?

As stated in the home page my name is Luka Zeljko and I am computer engineering student.

Why did I make this page?

- Consuming vs producing

I wanted to produce content instead of just comsuming it. I haven't decided what I will be posting here yet, maybe about cool software I find, new ways to do something better on Linux or Vim, or just about what I am up to in life. Maybe about all of those things and more. I'm kinda doing all this on the fly. I knew I wanted to have my own "space on the internet". A place I can do anything I want to without constraints, limits and censornship of big social media(like instagram, twitter, reddit,...). Though I still have accounts on some of these platforms, I barely use them, therefore I didn't link them anywhere.

- Web services

Since I am an engineer, I also wanted to learn about servers, how they work and what you can do with them. It's really been interesting setting up various services on my sever. So far I have:
- Mail server which actually required me to change my VPS since the original one didn't want to open port 25,
- Prosody server which utilizes xmpp protocol - I have managed to force some of my friends to use it on my server for chatting,
- Git server which I didn't configure much and not all my repos are available but I will experiment with it some more and I plan on making cgit fronted to go with it,
- Peertube instance for video uploading and much more,
- RSS-bridge which is for my own use only,
- as well as Alps webmail.
I'm thinking about adding internet radio service just for fun.

- Developing a site

I have been always trashing on web devs and ui devs about how boring their job is, but designing and coding this site has genuenelly been really fun experience so far. And I know real web devs don't just do static sites in html and css, but I can see now that there is a fun aspect to it. Though I would love to see more minimalist sites written just in html and css and not just bloated sites that take forever to load.

Note on languages

Since I haven't seen a lot of content about Linux, Vim, foss, self hosting in Serbian language, I might write everything in both Serbian and English though it does sound like a ton of work, maybe I'll just do videos in Serbian. I guess I'll decide that as I go aswell.
